The Matrix Method

The Matrix method was created by Dr. Mirjana Zivanov, as a fresh path in the field of Classical Homeopathy. It is based on the words and expressions that a patient uses to express the emotions with the highest emotional charge, for finding the Simillimum, Karmic or situational remedy.

The Matrix method uses the Tetractys model to visualize the behavioral and emotional states shaped by the ratio and predominance of each one of the three monoamines -serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline. It is one of the key elements of the Matrix method in homeopathy.

Tetractys model presents the basic emotions and behaviors in 10 Spheres, based on ratios of the 3 monoamines (serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline). The high serotonin level is associated with the top Sphere of Tetractys (Sphere Control & Contempt), high dopamine level with the lower left corner (Sphere Anticipation of reward) and high noradrenalin level with the lower right corner (Sphere Anxious & Aroused).

In Homeopathy, Hahnemann has defined the three miasms, as something that lies beneath, a deep and overwhelming influence. The Hahnemann’s miasms can be associated with the three monoamines – serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline.
